A walk along the quaint streets of York is always a pleasure. I fell in love with Shambles, the most picturesque street in England, instantly. It is very old, some of its timber-framed buildings date back as far as the fourteenth century. There used to be a slautherhouse and meat market. Today it features great restaurants and shops. Shambles is where the ghost walks start in York every evening.
