My impressions from York

Cathedral
York Minster is the second largest Gothic
cathedral of Northern Europe but in my
opinion definitely the most beautiful, a truly breathtaking one. On evening we were invited by York
Associates to the Cathedral to enjoy evensong, which was an unforgettable
experience, one of the kind. Really mind
blowing!

National Railway Museum
A short
walk from the railway station and you find yourself in front of the National
Railway Museum. It is the home to the
national collection of historically significant railway vehicles, as well as a
collection of other artefacts and both written and pictorial records. There are
more than 100 locomotives on display J

The next day
English Street...
A walk along the quaint streets of York is always a pleasure. I fell in love with Shambles, the most picturesque street in England, instantly. It is very old, some of its timber-framed buildings date back as far as the fourteenth century. There used to be a slautherhouse and meat market. Today it features great restaurants and shops. Shambles is where the ghost walks start in York every evening.

The first breakfast in York
The English breakfast was perfect, but I am hungry.
Tasting
British traditional food was a unique experience. The food is rich and fatty
but really yummy! I tried haggis and black pudding, faggots with mashed
potatoes and green peas. I liked Indian
food too. The variety of restaurants and
large selection of dishes made dining in York very interesting.
